folii

Coming soon · for readers in Turkey

Every page you readdeserves a record.

folii is a reading journal: session-by-session tracking, Turkish book data that is actually right, and your quotes and notes kept with the book. The mobile app is in development — the first release is what you’re signing up for.

One email when it opens. Your address is used for that and nothing else.

01 — Cover

Step inside the book.

folii is a quiet reading journal that remembers every book down to its edition, its translator and the page you stopped on. Keep scrolling — we’ll open the cover.

02 — Page

Every page counts.

24 pages today, 186 this week. Not a percentage — the real page, in the edition you’re actually holding.

  • Session-level page logging
  • Pace and streaks
  • Finish-date estimate

03 — Edition

You pick the edition.

One work, several translations. folii records the copy in your hands: publisher, translator, page count.

A translator isn’t a footnote; it’s half of the text you’re reading.

04 — Quiet

No noise. Just reading.

No feed, no likes, no midnight streak alerts. Your notes stay yours; your library is shown to no one.

05 — folii

Coming soon.

iOS and Android. The first invitations go to the reading list.

Join the list

The shelf that forgot you.

Goodreads hasn’t moved since 2013. For someone reading in Turkey, five things are missing — that is exactly where folii starts.

  • Reading / Read. That’s the whole model.

Session-level tracking: pages, minutes, pace, and where you stalled.

  • The interface is dated; mobile is a shrunken desktop site.

Mobile first, for real. Shelving a book takes two taps.

  • Turkish data is missing, wrong, duplicated; no translator.

Right publisher, right translator, right edition, right page count.

  • Book clubs exist, but nobody is talking inside them.

Synchronised reading, chapter-level discussion, automatic spoiler protection.

  • Quotes live on Instagram, notes live in Notion.

Photograph the page; the quote stays next to the book.

Deep tracking

Not how many books. How you read.

Start a session, tell us the page when you stop. folii works out the rest: your pace, your streaks, your year. None of it is stored — every figure is computed as it’s read, so it can never drift.

  • Session: 34 minutes, 26 pages
  • Pace: rising across the weeks
  • Streak: no notification when it breaks
  • The yearly summary builds itself

Turkish book data

One book, three translations.

In Turkey a reader picks an edition by its translator. In most apps that credit is missing or wrong. The catalog is ours: outside sources are ingestion channels, the accuracy is our job.

Ratings and reviews attach to the work; pages and progress attach to the edition. Keeping them apart is what keeps translator and page count honest.

Instead

Quiet defaults

Reading is not a performance. No badges, no leaderboards, no midnight notification because a streak broke. The app stays quiet; the book does the talking.
Design principle — notifications arrive off. Turn them on if you want them.

Roadmap

What arrives when — plainly.

  1. First release

    Sign-up and reading journal

Account, library, reading sessions, progress, and the Turkish catalog. iOS and Android.

  2. Next

    Live book clubs

A shared reading schedule, chapter-level discussion, and spoiler protection tied to where you actually are.

  3. Next

    Quotes and OCR

Photograph a page, get the text, keep the quote beside the book and the page it came from.

  4. Later

    Recommendations

Sensitive to theme, mood and reading pace — not ‘people who read this also read’.

Why folii

Four promises we’re making you.

Not a feature list — four things you’ll feel while using it. The figures below aren’t live counters; we measured the catalog on a given day and we’re printing what we found.

  • 0

    books in the catalog

Measured on the day of the genre pass

  • 0

    editions, with their translators

Measured on the first bulk load

  • 0%

    Turkish-language content

Across the catalogs of 15 publishers

  • 0

    taps to shelve a book

Our design rule, not an aspiration

  • 01

    Right edition, right translator

Which publisher, whose translation — it stays in the record. The page count matches the book in your hands.

  • 02

    Two taps to log

Shelve a book, start a session, enter a page. If it takes longer than that, the design is wrong and we fix it.

  • 03

    Quiet defaults

Notifications arrive off. No badges, no leaderboards — we’re not turning reading into a contest.

  • 04

    Your data is yours

Export exists from day one: take everything, delete the account. We don’t even keep your email address.

We’ll tell you when it opens.

First release: sign-up, the reading journal and the Turkish catalog. One email when it’s ready; silence until then.

Your address is processed for this announcement only and shared with no one. Ask us to delete it and we do.
