Terms of Use

1. Your account

You create your account with an email address and a password, or by signing in with Google or Apple. Your sign-in details are held by Google's Firebase Authentication service; your password never reaches us.

Adding books, recording progress, rating and writing reviews require a verified email address. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for what is done with it; if you notice that your account is being used without your permission, write to us straight away.

2. Using Folii

You may use Folii as your personal reading journal. We ask that you do not:

• try to access someone else's account, or open an account in someone else's name,
• try to harm, overload or get around the security of Folii's systems,
• scrape the catalog or the reviews in bulk with automated tools,
• post content that is unlawful, insulting, hateful, discloses another person's personal data or infringes someone else's rights,
• use reviews for advertising, spam or to mislead.

3. What you write

Your reviews and ratings are yours. When you publish a review, you give us a free, non-exclusive permission to display and reproduce it within Folii and to show it on the book's page. That permission ends when you delete the review or your account is deleted.

Published reviews can be seen by everyone, including people without an account. A review shows your display name, your profile photo and the rating you gave that book. Your library, reading history and tags are visible only to you.

We may decline to publish, or remove, content we consider contrary to these terms or to the law.

4. The catalog and book covers

Book information in Folii is compiled from publishers' and third-party sources. We work to keep it accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every record is complete and correct.

Book covers belong to their rights holders. Folii does not store covers on its own servers; your device displays them directly from their source.

5. The service itself

Folii is currently free and in development. We may change, add or remove features, and the service may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or because of a fault. We cannot promise that Folii will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss arising from Folii being unavailable or from the information it contains. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by contract, including those under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502.

6. Closing an account

You can delete your account from within the app at any time. For 30 days after the request you can change your mind and take your account back; at the end of that period your account and all the data attached to it are permanently deleted. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms seriously or repeatedly.

7. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Every significant change raises the version number, and we ask you to accept the new version the next time you use Folii; the version you accepted and the moment you accepted it are recorded on your account. Minor corrections such as typos do not change the version.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. As a consumer, you keep the right to bring a dispute to the consumer arbitration committee or consumer court where you live.
